The Best Trim For Bathrooms; Not Cloud White

I always have to include Cloud White in posts I write about trim because it’s too commonly used as a go-to, fix-all, no-questions-asked solution.  A client emailed me today with a great question:

Is it okay to have a warmer, off white trim throughout the house but use a brighter white in the bathroom to go with tile and fixtures?

The answer is Yes.

If the colours in your house dictate an off-white or creamier trim and you have white tile in the bathrooms, I think it looks way better to coordinate the trim with the fixed white here. SW Extra White is what I would recommend. An off-white would look too creamy. And yes, this means one side of the door will be a different shade of white than the other side.

Do you have whiter woodwork in your bathroom?
