Urban Barn’s Custom Chairity Competition

By 02/29/2012January 28th, 201725 Comments

I was so excited when I was asked to be a part of the Urban Barn’s Custom Charity Competition. Five interior design bloggers from across Canada custom designed a chair at our local Urban Barn just 2 weeks ago and everyone will be voting on the best chair!

Then on March 8 at 7:00 pm I will be at the Urban Barn at 2354 Granville Street to talk about my chair and my tips for ordering custom designed furniture.

I chose a colour closest to Tangerine Tango, Pantone’s colour of the year and I piped it in cream in a cotton/linen texture, you can see it below. It looks white in the image though because there’s so much contrast between the fabrics. I love this combination because it’s dramatic, happy and vivacious!

It’s also something to notice when you paint a room a really dark colour, sometime it works better to soften the trim colour by making it creamier otherwise it can look like unfinished plaster.

The Urban Barn has long been one of my go-to stores here in Vancouver when sourcing furniture and accessories for clients.

Last year when I completed this living room for a client, we purchased the coffee table from the Urban Barn:

And don’t these chairs (above) look familiar? They are very close in design to the Urban Barn chair I chose.

So here they are my lovelies! I hope you’ll vote for mine, but they are all beautiful! If you vote you are automatically entered into a draw to win one of your own custom chairs or one of five $100 gift cards.

And I would love to see you next Thursday night (March 8th) at the Urban Barn on South Granville! From now until March 11, everything custom is 15% off.

Vote for me, vote for me! All you have to do is like it! Easy. Thanks everyone!
