It has been a long road, but I love his strength, his stubborn will to get better, and being blessed with doctors & people along the way that really do care. I love our road to healing.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful knowledge of color!

  • Diane says:

In the past 15 months, our family has experienced the death of my husband’s brother, his mom, my dad, and my best friend. Of course I miss them all, but I know I will see them again in heaven. Our faith in Christ gives me this assurance. I love my God and Savior for the perfect kind of love he first showed to us. I try to pattern my love for others after this. Thanks, Maria, for reminding us that we can our think of more than romance today:).

  • Barb says:

I love The Lord for allowing me to live after a truck hit me while crossing the street April 13,2013.

  • sandyc says:

I love my house and the three kitties who share it with me – OK that they haven’t learned to drink a morning cup of coffee with me – drinking it alone while reading your blog especially and a couple of others I enjoy is great, and a new neighbor and I have started a once-a-month breakfast together which we hope will become a tradition. I’m eternally grateful that I was able to buy the house – never expected that, and I’m also grateful, though occasionally slightly impatient, that after two years, I’m still pretty cash poor. The upside is that I’ve carefully thought through (didn’t “angst” over) ever decision I’ve made and ever penny I’ve spent – the new air conditioner, new fridge and new washer/dryer (all replacing almost 30-year-old stuff) are completely paid for as are all the other delightful finds over that time. Even the financing of 1350 sq ft of new flooring could become possible this year without having to win a lottery or come into an inheritance. I love the past two years of “classes” with Teacher Maria and I’m eager for more. And I love that, even though I haven’t formally consulted with you yet, I really do wake up every morning with a smile on my face that grows wider as I walk through my house opening all the drapes and curtains (because of what I’ve learned from you.)

And I love that, since I already have the Sherwin Williams color boards and your white e-book, I can say “if my name comes up, gift it on”.

  • Diane says:

There is so much to be thankful for, being loved and loving is at the top of the list. Being able to volunteer in my community, having enough to live and help out others.

  • Dawn says:

I love and am truly thankful for my best friend John that I married 34 years ago today. He has been there for me through all the good and bad times. He truly is my rock.

  • Ursula says:

I love natural beauty all around me, there for the seeing… blessings all around me, freely given.

I love this community, generous and considerate.

  • Becky says:

I love my husband and my kids who keep me on my toes and feeling young, and my home – the beautiful place in which I live. My house is nice, but it wouldn’t be a “home” without the love that lives here every day. We love to spend time outdoors in the mountains and my house is a reflection of our love of nature and “practical” beauty.

  • camille says:

I love….myself! Not in a vain way, but in a really happy, content to live my life as it happens and enjoy every minute of it way. It’s an accomplishment that I want to celebrate as that kind of self love took a long time to achieve.

  • I love that we live in a country where there is freedom and peace. A country where those I love will not be taken from me, a country where women are counted as equals, and a country where I can go out at any time of night and day and be safe on a long dog walk. And yes, I love my dogs, my husband, my children, my sisters, cousins and aunt, and my friends near and far. Even though many may not know it there’s always a warm place in my heart for all of them.

I love my little house that, like Maria, I’ve been renovating and making my own. I’m so close to being done with it.
I love the inner core of strength I found after the death of my husband, I’ve started my life completely over and I’m so happy with it.

  • Jean says:

Today is Valentine’s Day, and also my 28th wedding anniversary. Being my anniversary brings to the front of my list of what I love about my life, loving memories of my mother-in-law. She passed in 2009. I thank my mother-in-law for my Valentine’s Day anniversary. She encouraged my husband and me to move up our wedding date, so that we could be married when we settled into the house that we bought together. To make the Valentine ’s Day wedding happen, in less than 3 weeks, Mom made my wedding dress, using pale pink satin, overlaid with white French lace; piecing together 3 patters to create my dream dress. Mom was supportive and loving to me, always. I love that I had such a loving fantastic mother-in-law.

But to really answer Maria’s question, I’ve been thinking of what I love about my life now. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer in mid-December. I started chemo just 3 weeks later. I certainly cannot say that I love that I have cancer, but I do love what it has brought into my life. I moved to my current home just 6 months ago. But as soon as my new neighbors learned I was going thru chemo, they have brought food, offered to drive me to appointments, and sent me cards that are funny, encouraging and uplifting. And my friends, neighbors and church family from my previous city, where I lived for 25 years, have rallied around me (although long distance) with love, prayer and support. It is amazing the care and love that people extend when it is needed. It renews my energy and uplifts my soul. I love that having cancer has not brought me down emotionally. I am determined to have a positive attitude, eat well and exercise, and not complain. I’m rethinking what I want in life, materially. It’s OK to want things, but I now evaluate based on what will really make my and my husband’s quality of life better. We moved into a home that was decorated about 15 years ago. So I am removing wall paper and repainting. I plan a major renovation of the kitchen and master bathroom. The entire exterior will be repainted in the spring, and I am picking colors for inside and out. So what do I love about my life? I love that I have life, blessed and filled with many wonderful friends and family.

  • Madeline says:

I love my husband my sons and the time I dedicate to my yoga mat. I love reading anything Maria writes and I would love a set of her colour boards. I love that I am still learning, Maria has opened my eyes to undertones. Now instead of having an uncomfortable feeling that “something” is wrong with my decor I can analyze the undertones and make the appropriate adjustments. So I guess you could say I also love all things Maria! Happy Valentines Day 🙂

  • JenniferG says:

I love my parents, my husband, my husband’s family, my extended family, my puppy Ramsey, the ocean, the complicated color red, and the subtle color of white. I love a good coat, fine stationery, gold, white subway tile and absence of clutter and a clear night sky. I love beautifully crafted rooms and simplicity of a good morning routine.

Thank you for writing your blog and demystifying color. I have been forever changed by taking your color seminar. I am confident about color and that I love.

And I really enjoy your blogs, Maria!

I’m grateful to be able and available (retired!) to spend lots of time with this loving, beautiful family.
My two daughters, my three sisters, my home, my cat, my wonderfully supportive friends, no snow to shovel in TX, my freedom to travel, my enjoyment of my yard and nature all around me and my right to practice any religion of my choice. For all of these and so much more I’m humbled to be given these gifts of love!

I would like to share with you that I love living in Australia, a land that is free and where rights and freedom are valued. Australia is a place where the right to vote counts and people can and just did (in Queensland) within three years toss out a Government that broke its promise. My home has blue skies all year round, clean blue oceans to be enjoyed and pristine wilderness to be explored. We have a wonderful standard of living and healthcare available to all. I was not born in this country but it is my home and I feel safe and blessed to have lived most of my life here. I have travelled a great deal in my days and have seen much of the world some of it wonderful some not so good. I love my piece of paper that says I am an Aussie and my Australian passport.

  • liz says:

i love gratitude~ what a joy to read all of the comments and stories above! life is so what you make it. it would be a shorter list to tell you what i don’t love about my life. my top few: my three beautiful healthy happy college age daughters, my husband of 28 years who said on my birthday a couple of days ago “i wake up before you every day, and can’t wait until you get up so i can be with you. i love our extraordinary ordinary life” (swoon, right?), my darling pair of shih tzu babies, and lastly, that i get paid to do what i can’t *not* do, interior design. my clients are such a pleasure! it comes easy for me, but i sometimes struggle with explaining the why of my work when it just comes from my gut. you have given me the language to tell them why colors work and don’t work, thank you so much! so, life is good1 thank you for the opportunity to talk about it! happy sunday!

  • Elaine says:

I love the colors that God created in our world. The whites of winter, blues of the summer skies, oranges of autumn and the pinks of spring. Being able to bring those “outside” colors into our homes so that we can enjoy the moods and emotions that our favorite colors evoke in us, is very rewarding.

  • Linda says:

Maria I love your generosity in sharing your knowledge. You may not know how far and wide it travels. Recently I was selecting tiles from a local paint/tile centre for a renovation. While there a lovely assistant was helping me with my selection and I mentioned the word “undertones” which in this region is a word that is as foreign as another language. Suddenly she eyed me curiously, while replying she had recently learnt all about undertones from a woman overseas. I was so excited I blurted out “was it Maria from Canada? She confirmed that is was you & she had bought your paint sample boards whilst visiting Canada. Where do we live? In regional Victoria Australia!!!

  • Adeline says:

I have so much that I love and am grateful for. An awesome husband who has been in my corner since 1988 and who is MY number one fan. His love and support is all encompassing. A wonderful huge family – starting with my mother – there are 43 of us. Yup, 43. I have 8 siblings and there are 5 generations of us. Family reunions are a wonderful, fun time and we all look forward to seeing each other every second year for Christmas. Ma is 84 years old and is still full of energy and love. She bakes, knits, cleans, babysits, gardens and runs errands for “her little seniors” who can’t drive any more. Isn’t she fabulous ! I have very dear friends and the years and the thousands of miles have not dimmed our friendship. And new friends that I met through training in Neuro Linguistic Programming. Such an incredible, eye opening expericence ! I love having connected with Maria and her wonderful world of colour. My husband and I can take a house apart and renovate it from the foundation all the way up to the roof but we were stonewalled by a mere paint chip. Now a whole new colourful coordinated world has opened up and I am having fun with it and in it. Our house, instead of just being a residence, is now our home – it reflects who we are and how we want it to feel.

  • Linda says:

The list would be long so I will make it short. I love my family. And I love my renovated white kitchen. I had the confidence to do an all white kitchen even though some skeptics thought it would be boring. I believe it was a success because of all I learned from you Maria. Thank you for your generosity of sharing your knowledge.

  • CJ says:

I love my husband who I married on Valentine’s Day 26 years ago. I love my little Scottie dog. I love my parents and feel very grateful and blessed that they are still around. As my father says, “we’re still kicking”! I am grateful to have such a good life full of great friends, family and co-workers. Life is good!

  • Sandy says:

I would have to say that I love God first because without him, the other things and people I love would not existent. And Maria, I absolutely LOVE the fact that I found you, your blog, your website and your color knowledge! It has simplified my life when it comes to color consults and I have many happy clients because of it..and I don’t even have your color boards nor have I attended your class! I’ve just followed, studied and read a TON! Thanks so much for this blog and for sharing your knowledge!

  • Franci says:

Like so many have already said, I love my family. Without them, life would be empty. Everything else is just icing. Thank you for the giveaway, fingers crossed!

  • Babs Loyd says:

I am recuperating from double cataract sugeries. What I love is that I can see colors clearly now. My family holds first place in the LOVE category and our three furballs, Maltese brother and sister, and Poodle-mix, keep my true love husband of 37 years and me laughing because of their daily antics. We are going to update our house rather than move, so the expert advice you offer in your books and posts will be a big help. Any chance you will come to TEXAS for one of your workshops? I would really LOVE that!

  • Kelly says:

I love my sweet boys, Noah and Dylan… that I have a wonderful hubby and loving lab! I am happy that I am going to pursue my dreams of doing art and color consultations – of course! Thanks to people like you who stepped out and took a risk. Life is short, love it!

I love my sweet family: handsome hubby and three precious children that I’ve been blessed with. I love decorating our new three level town home. Most of all, I love when I get creative inspiration that comes directly from God- the best creator and decorator- to make beautiful things.

I love the little things…a warm day with a cool breeze, the way leaves sometimes quiver as sunlight filters through them, a big bright moon on clear and starry night, the silky feel of my dog’s fur between my finger tips. And I love the important things, my loving and supportive husband and faithful family who are there for me no matter what, good friends…I love life itself. And I love this blog. Thank you, Maria.

Maria, wow. The Lord has enabled you to touch the lives of ALL these people! Even in the asking of this question, you’ve opened the gratitude floodgates and God is praised! I love that! Life unfolds and we look around and WE are in the folds….. Patient husband Neil, my daughter who teaches me to exercise understanding and to see through spirit eyes, the transformed lives of my stepchildren, and good health, swimming! The privilege of prayer and the answers. You–Little Sparkle….

I love my adorable niece and nephew even though I don’t get to see them often enough. I also love everything I learned reading your blog.

  • Patrizia says:

Of course, I love my family. I thank God every day for my daughter with mental disabilities that has taught me patience and compassion. And finally I love my profession. I am a teacher and I could not imagine doing anything else.

  • Andrea says:

I love that I have a stable career that will sustain me through retirement (in only 10 years), and possibly beyond if I do jobs here and there. My dream was to be an interior designer but non-wealthy women (and possibly men) are effectively shut out of this career due to the high training and start-up costs — especially if you have children.

Above all I love my children, now young adults in college. They are the joy of my life and my reward/forgiveness for all the mistakes in my life — including but not limited to marrying their father, who I have stuck with for 20 unhappy years due to said wonderful children.

Now in late middle age it is time to take action to free myself from the terrible bind I’m in. Believe it or not, I love the thought of the freedom I will attain to live life on *my* terms and not those of a bullying, verbally abusive spouse who long ago broke the sanctity of the marital bond (long. ago.).

All you women with wonderful, best-friend husbands are so fortunate and have every reason to love your lives. I look forward to the same, if not with a husband or partner, at least on my own!

Lastly, Maria, I love you too. You are a role model and inspiration to me as you definitely live life on your own terms! I know it’s not always easy, but you seem strong enough to overcome obstacles and keep your values and goals clear. I love your life!

And I love the way you explain the subtleties of color, Maria!
