Happiness is. . . the Weekend

By 09/11/2010January 26th, 201719 Comments

Usually when I feel anxious I can figure out why and get happy again but this week there seemed to be too many reasons to be cranky. It’s unusual for me to have an off-kilter week so when that happens, I’m happy to find a reason and here it is: Mercury is in Retrograde until tomorrow so I think everything will be right as rain after that! The best parts of my week was talking to my readers in my on-line consultations in addition to seeing my clients here in town.

I have lots to look forward to in the next month, my third True Colour Expert Workshop is happening starting on Thursday and I can hardly wait to meet my participants! It’s like I’m meeting up with friends that already know me (well if you read my blog, you know me :).

I’ll also be shopping with Angie at You Look Fab at the beginning of October in Seattle. I’ll probably arrive on October 1 (Friday) and stay until Tuesday the 5th, if anyone needs a consultation, email me and I’ll see when I can fit you in. Angie’s website has a new look, click here to read her launch post, it’s fabulous, just like she is! In the meantime, I’m trying to stay away from the stores and not buy anything until I shop with her. Then I can avoid mistakes like the turquoise necklace I mentioned on my Facebook Page yesterday!!

Also, I booked my flight to High Point this week! It’ll be my first time there and it’s so big and overwhelming from what I understand that I’m scared I might miss something! Luckily I’ll be meeting some of you in person as well as hooking up with Lauren at Pure Style Home and Brooke from Velvet & Linen. I’ll be arriving on Friday October 15th and there until Tuesday the 19th. Amanda from AB Home Interiors said she was staying at the Holiday Inn Express so I booked a room there as well!

I hope you are having a lovely weekend! Thank you for reading my blog, I so appreciate you!

    Maria,

The true signs of success are: vision, plans, lists, priorities, scheduling, being present, relaxation (weekends), reflection and blog about it. Looks like you've got it covered!

Maria, I would love to meet you for dinner or something. Let me know if you also would like to; when you know more of what your schedule is. I know they plan a lot of fun activities and entertainment for the market. It is so much fun, but I have had to leave before because of sensory overload. Wow, you will be the first blogger I have met ( I hope ), since most of my blogging buddies seem to be on the West coast. Maybe I will be inspired to start blogging again! Hope your travel to High Point goes smoothly.

    Maria,
So often, when one is off kilter – it is a sign to rest and those pretty images show no sign of "mercury in retrograde" showing any negative affects. Wishing you a wonderful day and all the best this weekend and with your upcoming adventures.

I completely hear you Maria. Sometimes, it's just so hard to let go of something that is bothering you. I've been going through the same thing this past weekend, so my husband and I went for a motorcycle ride around the country yesterday which was definitely well needed.

I try and add fun things to do to help me let go and enjoy the moments.

Have a great fun work week! Sounds fab!

I hosted a baby shower yesterday and two of my favorite people did not show. You guessed it Mercury in Retrograde. It can really put a wrench in the works. Luckily it's over before your upcoming events.

Hi Maria, It sounds like you are going to have so much fun! Now I know why you are so on top of things design-wise. That trip to High Point Market sounds fantastic–especially from an interior designer's point of view. I hope you share all the great new ideas you pick up there. I'd be fascinated to see what they share and from the look of it, it could easily be overwhelming. I'm off to Dallas for some on site paperwork for the estate and a meeting with an accountant. Sigh.. Need to get that house sold! If it kills us! Ha!

Thanks so much for visiting. It's been crazy at our house as you know. August is doing great and at home. And Lena–well–I posted pictures of my 'country girl'. She's just perfect. I'm so sorry I haven't been to visit lately. I'm hoping that in a week or two I can get back to OUR house decorating. The floor tile you suggested will be perfect I'm sure. :o)

Have a great weekend..inspite of the Mercury Retrograde. Sounds an awful lot like Murphy's Law and I don't worry about that much. However, a lot of things have been going haywire lately..so who knows? Cute!

Maria: I am also planning on meeting Brooke. Lets all get together and shop interhall together. I'd love to help you. I've been shopping HP for 25 years and would love to introduce you to some of my amazing vendors.
    Best,

Well that sure explains the crazy stuff going on around here lately ! 😉 I would love to meet up with you and Amanda and any other bloggers that will be at the market.

  • I am so jealous of your shopping trip with Angie I can hardly stand it! I'd love that opportunity, and I love her blog. I can't believe I'll be arriving in NC, coincidentally on 10/18! Too bad you're leaving and I'm coming — would have loved to have bought you lunch for your help! 🙂

Maria, you will be amazed at how small High Point is, despite the miles and MILES of show space. It's a quaint little town with a lot of heart. I live in nearby Winston-Salem, where the Arts thrive. Come visit and gallery/museum hop while you are in the area. Best wishes for a wonderful trip to the Old North State! Donna

  • Robyn says:

You will have so much fun at High Point. I've been twice. The first time I was pregnant, but very stubborn that I could do it. I did even in heels! The second time not pregnant. More fun because I could enjoy the wonderful parties.

A couple of parties to attend are the Theodore Alexander party, Christopher Guy and any lunch at Fine Art Lamps. It is wonderful. Have a great time. I wish I were going!

  • Laura@Developing Designs says:

Hang in there…..what you have in store will surely bring many smiles to your face.
I would love to connect while in High Point. It's so much fun….bring your walking shoes and have fun attitude.
