Designer Closet Guys Master Bedroom Solutions

There comes a time when you get tired of your clothes hanging on barely adequate shelves and rods, when having your shoes strewn about the closet floor just gets old.

So I decided I wanted a grown-up closet before we move in to our new house at the end of this month. The closet is narrow with just a few rods so it would have been hard for me to move my clothes into a space that was currently so under utilized!

Here is the view of where our closet doors are to the left of the entrance to the room.

This is what was inside. So not enough for 2 people!! Where will I put all my shoes? Since I can’t go anywhere wearing an all neutral outfit anymore I have picked up a small shoe addiction. If I see a pair of shoes in a colour I don’t already have, I buy them!

And here’s the guest room closet! Look familiar?

I have always thought custom closets were a small fortune so I decided to price them out. When Chris arrived to measure up my closets I had to take a picture of his stylish clothes!

What do you think of my sorbet orange? It glows right now but it’ll soon be covered up with clothes anyway. My master bedroom accent colour is orange so I thought it would be fun to paint the closet that colour since the bedroom will actually be turquoise. The first coat of paint went up weeks ago and as soon as the flooring and baseboards go in, the final coat will be painted.

There’s just enough space right beside the entry for shelves of shoes! And then we specifically installed the drawers so that they will be the first thing you see from the doorway. Since it’s a pocket door, it probably won’t be closed all that much.

And then there’s a cabinet with shelves and mirrored doors on them! I will hang all my necklaces on hooks to the left side of the wall which will remain empty (it’s a skinny closet). The door on the bottom of the drawers is a laundry hamper, love to have that tucked away. The price for this the master closet was $3195 + taxes. So worth it to have all our clothes organized!

Now I just need to find some Hermes boxes for my orange closet. Would anyone like to help me out with that : )

The cost for the guest room closet is $635.00 + tax. It will be great to have extra space for  off-season clothes and extra bedding. It was really fun to be able to see exactly what the closets would look like before Chris even left the house!

Great decision–to get these closets, you’ll not regret the $$spent either! Husband & I sent way for ours from Easy Closets (online) and they were easy! We’ve now done 22 closets for ourselves & others…they really do compare well in price with what you can find @ Home Depot or Lowe’s. Pantries are good to do also and garages, etc, etc. Just in the process of thinning out my closet and wondering about painting it….
    Love that idea, Maria!

  • Oh my, you just gave me my next house project… painting our closet! It’s a really yucky yellowy green with fluorescent lighting right now. What could be worse?

  • I’m all over the turquoise and orange concept, Maria. Love it!

The hair colour is o’natural and the shirt is my latest favorite from English Laundry. Funny how it actually went with the room colours Maria chose for her closets.

    Hi Maria,

Ready a few old posts today while waiting on the company computer guy to help[ with a problem.

    Funny story:

When we first moved into our house the master bedroom was painted a very very very dark green. So was the closet. We had to paint the inside of the closet white after my husband came home from work at lunch time to change clothes. The very very very dark green stole all the light and killed the color of his clothes so he was choosing clothes to wear without knowing what color they really were. A fun colored closet would work for me but not for him since he is now addicted to the white in his closet.

    TRUE Story!
