The concept behind this session is to provide hands-on homeowners with all the information and ideas necessary to carry the project forward. This includes paint colours, furniture scale and placement, drapery suggestions, colours for flooring, countertops, tile, including contacts etc.
Maria specializes in helping you create a look and feel specifically for your home based on the style of your home, your preferences, likes and dislikes.
To make the best use of time we suggest you prepare a list of questions you would like to have answered during your meeting. If you are working on a renovation, please have your chosen finishes ready (or a selection she can choose from) In addition we suggest you have a notebook ready to record all the suggestions you receive.
We also recommend that you schedule the consultation prior to finalizing and/or purchasing your hard finishes, ie. tiles or countertops in case we determine that there is a conflict in undertones or if Maria suggests something even more appropriate for the space.
Please note, the more decisions you have made with regard to fabrics and new finishes the more interesting and accurate your colour choices will be. If you are starting with an empty space, Maria can help you pull together a colour scheme that will help you in moving forward; however your colours will not seem nearly as interesting when they don't relate to anything in your space.
One of the biggest mistake homeowners make is mixing old and new furniture or finishes in a way that makes something old look even more dated. A consultation with a professional (before you begin) will always save you money and you'll be buying the 'right' items customized to suit your space the way it is now.
One bad purchase decision on your own easily pays for a consultation to get it right the first time. And if you are on a budget, you have no budget to waste on mistakes.
