Decorating with Red: Before & After

Living Room After

Paula from Salad in a Jar hired me in April for an on-line consultation to help with colours and decorating updates on her house. Two hours later, she had a plan and three months later, here is the fabulous result! This is what she said: "Thank-you again for helping me a few months ago. You gave me a lot of confidence which made… Continue reading

Best Ideas for Creative Kids Rooms: Before & After

Dinosours Gathering

This post is written by my Director of All Things Wonderful, Irene Hill:

Last week at this time Maria and I were just finishing up the last touches of our magical home makeover for my sister, Aimee and five of her kids. They were all glowing with happiness and pride in their "new" home.

Four months ago, when Maria and I started this project of love, I carefully interviewed each of my nieces and nephews to find out what would make them love their rooms the most. I found out what they were interested in and spent hours scouring the internet to get all the little pieces exactly right. At the end of the day I wanted to see wonder and awe in each set of eyes and was over the moon that we managed to do just that! Continue reading

13 Ways to Create Flow with a White Kitchen

How to Create Flow with a White Kitchen

View from the Master Bedroom Two weeks ago, I found a new business coach. Julia decided my business needed an intervention and if I didn't come to see her, it would be months until we sorted things out on the phone together. Fortunately for me, she had two days that she was able to re-arrange on short notice to fit… Continue reading

Eclectic Art in the Hallway

Eclectic Art in the Hallway

{Front Door Colour: Cloverdale 7669} The art wall in my hallway has looked like this almost since we moved in over a year ago. I couldn't stand the wall sitting empty so I filled it with mostly empty frames in the hopes that it would inspire me to fill them faster. It didn't. Every time I walked by, I was… Continue reading

I Hate my Closet Contest is Back!

designer_closet_guys_logo

The Designer Closet Guys installed closets in my house last year! And thank goodness they did, because our closet door is actually a pocket door so if our closet wasn't pretty to look at, I would want to keep the door closed and that would not be fun. Here's the video of my colour consultation with the winner of last years… Continue reading

{Click on images for source} I am seriously, easily entertained. As many of you know, I live one hour and 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver in–gasp–Yarrow but it's considered Chilliwack. Recently, I read The Happiness Project, an awesome book about. . . surprise, Happiness, I read it twice, back-to-back. I have NEVER done that in my life. I LOVED it.… Continue reading

Take Risks with Your Decor Rather than your Clients

Take Risks with Your Decor Rather than your Clients

Two years ago, when we lived in our townhouse downtown, I chose the wrong fabric for my new chair and ottoman. I was so embarrassed. That's why it's taken me this long to tell you about it. I had my yellow sofa (above) and that was an easy choice for me to make. I love yellow. But I was having… Continue reading
