This Paint Job is only Right Once a Year

A broken clock is right twice a day.  This was the photo that Patrick from Shadows on Stone sent me the other day along with those 2 quotes. It's a donut shop in Portland that looks pretty hot now with the matching cherry blossoms. He said it just screams in the winter and looks sour in the summer. I had to share it with you.
Did you know that bubblegum pink is used to calm violent prisoners?  The whole entire cell must be painted pink including the furniture and even after all that the physiological reaction lasts only for approximately 15 minutes but it does the trick. "Even if a person tries to be angry or aggressive in the presence of pink, he can't." Dr. Alexander Schauss, Ph.D
I wonder if the inside of our cars were painted this colour, would we be calmer drivers?

Yes, I've heard of the bubblegum pink cell experiment. I love it; the power of colour. Did you know that most Australian sports stadiums use soothing blues and greens for their seating instead of red? Similar reasoning I guess.

What fun this post is! We have the most aggressive drivers in Mass. I'd love to see the difference if everyones car interior were pink. Love that you shared the donut shop!

    Maria,

Trust you and Colour Me Happy to find matching accessories in clock, cool car, and the appropriate "Pink Suite Hotel" to check into when that homicidal mood happens.

    Thanks for the shout out.

How funny! I think a pink room would drive me crazy. Amazing how color can affect mood isn't it?

Well…if the average drive lasts longer than 15 minutes..the pink might not help that much.. Just musing..

To tell you the truth, that photo of the donut shop is positively painful to look at. I can't imagine it looking decent even in winter. Ha! Such a funny post..I loved it!

Actually, I believe those are redbud trees, my favorite springtime tree. They are always the first to bloom and can stand cooler temps, so I bet the Northwest is probably enjoying a lot of them right now. Cherry trees are much more delicate in color.

    Cute post.
